We ate Italian, but we traveled like Americans (taking pictures of all our food). If there was a common theme it was - Fresh, Vibrant and Rich. Everything along the coast is freshly caught that day, and everything inland was eating it’s own food the day before. Chefs’ take great care and pride in how they handle the food, and what they bring to the table. You don’t dare waste or leave anything behind. “Forte Forte” (have strength) was commonly heard as we marched thru 2 hour lunches and 3 hour dinners trying everything on the menu. This way of eating isn’t for everyone… It’s a lot of work looking for inspiration to bring home. The biggest issue is that most of the seafood either doesn’t have a translation from our coast, or if it does it’s significantly different - but that’s why we went looking for inspiration, not recipes… This is more a gallery archive for our own use than for yours, but enjoy the eye candy anyway.
